Keep Your Body Temperature Cool During Pregnancy
It’s great to exercise during pregnancy but don’t push it and heat up your body too much. Raising your core body temperature over 102 degrees Fahrenheit can increase the chance of miscarriage and birth defects.
It’s a good idea to take it easy on the workouts even if you are trying to get pregnant and are not pregnant yet. Consider it “pregnancy training”. You can keep cool while exercising by working out in a cool gym or room or outdoors if you have a moderate climate. Swimming and water aerobics are great pregnancy exercises and work the entire body while keeping your body temperature down if you are in cool water.
Just use your head when exercising. Exercise is essential to a healthy pregnancy but overdoing it will only hurt. If you have specific questions, make sure to ask your fertility doctor or OB-GYN for more detailed information on exercising while trying to get pregnant or exercising when you are pregnant.
