Proceeding With FET – Frozen Embryo Transfer
We went to the doctor two days ago and great news; our FET (frozen embryo transfer) is a go! The first thing they checked was my uterine lining and the nurses exact words were “gorgeous” – in fertility terms, I assume that means great. We were given a number of 9 for the lining and I think it will slowly increase by the time the transfer day is here. She also did an ultrasound on my ovaries and then looked “nice and quiet”, just like they should be. I also had blood work taken to make sure that my ovulation was suppressed, and it was! I was on Estrace pills prior to my appointment and I have now begun Prometrium, 3 times a day, along with a baby aspirin. The preparation for the FET is nothing compared to the stimulation medication for our fresh round of IVF. I still feeling like I am taking a lot of pills though each day: Estrace (2 times/day), Prometrium (3 times/day), baby aspirin, prenatal, and Omega-3/DHA. Tomorrow I will add Medrol (I think this is a steroid) to my line-up of medications.
All in all, we are sky-high at this point…. simply thrilled that everything is on track for the FET. Stay tuned.
